Episode overview

Highlights and analysis of the day's three Premier League matches plus a round-up of the weekend's earlier action, introduced by Mark Chapman. Manchester United hosted neighbours Manchester City looking to secure local bragging rights and steal a march in the fledgling title race. United won 4-2 at Old Trafford last season to end a four-game losing streak to City. The north east derby between Sunderland and Newcastle took on added significance with both clubs starting the season poorly. The Black Cats went into the game having won each of the last five league meetings between the sides. The day's other matches saw Bournemouth host Tottenham and Liverpool entertain Southampton.
