Determined to lift Mogul beyond Zenith's reach, Brian Stead puts Peter Thornton in charge of a secret drilling venture in the Alaskan Arctic. Thornton assembles men and equipment for the long journey across Canada, but in the Arctic one setback follows another, while back in London opposition to the costly gamble grows within the board.
